This is absolutely brilliant!

This is genius. I just watched a segment about this on MSNBC. The best part is, if the Feds complain, they can point to 22 OTHER STATES which already institute a similar law/arrangement, MOST OF THEM RED BY THE WAY.

Kudos to Murphy for looking out for his constituents.

It has been nice being in western NJ away from the congestion east of 287

Thankfully your options to respond are not limited to one response as there are many reasons to bug out!

We are out of here soon. Building a new home in Florida

The only advantage NJ had are gas stations pump you gas in any weather while you can stay in your vehicle.

Florida has the homestead rule so they can never take your home away. Better weather, lower taxes, they can actually do capital punishment vs NJ. Coddling of criminals and moving to be a Santuary State.

Only downside is selling you home up here as the exodus will pick up steam with Gov Murphy your home value will decrease

It's not an extra tax. You'd owe it eventually, but they're not waiting for eventually...or never.

Top reason is definitely taxes and competition in job field. I used to live in Texas for a few years, and contemplating going back.

Please also post which towns you will be leaving from. That would give me an idea if I can maybe purchase something at a lower price...

Good point, we could turn this into a form of classifieds.

"We're headed for Florida because of taxes and to be closer to the grandkids, but we're leaving a lovely three bedroom cape 2 1/2 bath, renovated master bath, gas heat, new A/C in 2012, walkable to downtown Summit, EIK, and fully finished basement, $435K"
