Does anyone know what the huge collection of cars visible around Newark along the Turnpike I-78 extension is? Looking down below and on both sides. Is that Port Newark, and do those cars belong to employees, or are they imports/exports?

Those are new cars that just came off of a boat. We ordered a custom ordered Mini a few years ago and they provided enough information to follow the car as it left the factory in Austria. It went through Germany to a boat, then kicked around Europe for a bit before crossing over and disembarking in NJ. Made it to the dealer a day or two later.

Was interesting to follow, as you don't really think too much about what a car goes through to get from a point A to a point B.

Exports as well, Toyota alone exports in excess of 120K vehicles per year from ports in NJ & CA.

It is called the Port Newark Auto Terminal. When it opened, the PA held a contest to name it. That's the name that won. Real creative, eh?
