Hi All,
My husband is interviewing for a job which we originally thought was in springhouse PA. We were told that his office may be in Titusville NJ instead.

We are a family with 2 elementary aged kids, of an East Indian background. An Indian community nearby is not important but we do prefer a diverse neighborhood to raise our kids. A good school district and safety are other top priorities.

We would also prefer a town with a downtown and plenty of things to do with kids (but I can't find anything in a 30 minute commute circle from Titusville).

We are moving from San Francisco and we know the diversity and the things to do will be hard to beat but we hope we can find something that's "good enough".

We are moving for affordability reasons. The Bay Area is pretty expensive and cannot be a long term option as our kids grow up.

While Titusville is safe it is not diverse and it does not have a "town" feeling, it is a small community between the Delaware River and the D and R Canal.

Check out Princeton, good downtown, and schools. West Windsor, large Asian population, good schools.
On the PA side of the river, the Council Rock school district is good not sure of the diversity.

That part of NJ is scenic and quaint,,, near Washington's Crossing NJ and PA along the Delaware River. As other poster mentioned, you have those other larger towns mentioned above if that's your "cup of tea".

Thank you. Is the springhouse PA area better in these terms than Titusville, NJ? We are wondering if we should state a preference for springhouse?

Many jobs require visiting other facilities for meeting with teams. teams change as well so travel may be an issue. Titusville is mid way between Raritan and Springhouse, Malvern. Springhouse is about an hour and 10 minutes from Raritan.

For your indicated $700,000 house budget, you could very easily afford a beautiful mini estate on acreage in Hopewell Township (where Titusville is located) or nearby Ewing Township. This area is not particularly diverse, but the professionals who live there are pretty liberal. Schools are very good. If you require the best school districts with good diversity, nearby Princeton Boro and Township and West Windsor Township schools are rated tops in the state. But be advised that housing in those areas is expensive but cheaper than the Bay Area.

No matter where you live you'll get to interact with a diverse group of people. People with different ideas, political leanings, food preferences, music tastes, religious beliefs, etc.

Stop judging people based on people's skin color...

I don't even know how to respond to this, so I'll let it be.

To everyone else, thank you for your replies.
