Default East Brunswick?#$%

My husband might get a job in EB and we have two children. I'm a stay-at-home mom and wondering if this is the best place for us to raise our family. How high are taxes, and are there surrounding towns that have comparable schools?

Great schools, great community. Expensive, yes, but what isn't in New Jersey. East Brunswick has a great community recreation program, which includes a huge waterpark/swim complex, YMCA, library, and the schools are excellent.

Absolutely. The surrounding towns are definitely not comparable when it comes to school quality.

I would have to agree with teachbeach and fischfan If you can move to EB move there. But if you can't ,then move to one of these towns.
Home and taxes are cheaper in both of these towns.
Sayreville has cheaper taxes and South River is even cheaper then both of them. South River has its own Utilities, but not gas.

Taxes in the town for a small home start at around $4500 a year. Small homes are considered smaller ranchs, split, or small colonials. A nice condition smaller home will probably run you $5000 to $6000 a year. A larger home like a center hall colonial or bilevel, home will run you at least $7000 and many will be over $8000+ year. New construction or newer construction (1995+) will run you over $10,000 a year with the sky being the limit. I believe the highest in EB is around $60,000 a year if I recall correctly.
