I'm going to begin house hunting in Bridgewater and was hoping for some ideas on what areas to concentrate my search in. I have heard all about Bradley Gardens and Finderne.
I'm looking for nicer areas with homes up to $500K.
The area seems so large that I cant figure out where I should be located. I need access to 287 for a quick trip (I hope) to Somerset in the morning.

Thanks!
Bridgewater's not as big as all that. No matter where you are in Bridgewater, you're just a few minutes from Rt. 287. And from some places, I can show you back roads to take, so you never have to get on 287 at all to get to Somerset. Of course, some parts of Bridgewater are more desirable than other parts, but on the whole, there isn't really a "bad" part of the town. Do you want Bridgewater for the school? If so, be sure to include Raritan Boro in your search. It is, afgter all, the Bridgewater Raritan Regional School System. Here's the current list of homes, from my MLS, in Bridgewater & Raritan priced up to $500k. I think it's 177 properties. Let me know if you want me to use some criterion, like number of bedrooms or something, to pare it down to a more managable number.
Bill, not to be a wise guy but what kind of looks do you get from people that have 500k to spend on a home and those are the homes you show them. 500k for a house built in the 60's, 2000sf. Good for the current owners, I feel for those looking for a decent home in decent area.

I can get some looks, especially from people coming from a totally different area. I don't know where you are, so I don't know what sort of a gap there is between what I posted & what you expect for that money. As in many things, it depends on your perspective. Most of the buyers here understand that they're looking at real estate in a fantastically desired area, commutable to not only NYC but also to Philly. Great school systems, great quality of life, etc, etc. Do most buyers think that the price of a house here is too much? Sure they do. But I'm willing to bet that buyers looking in the least expensive towns in the country think exactly the same thing.
