Default Keyport fishing pier

As a kid, I went fishing with my grandfather off a dock in Keyport. It was near a carnival. There was a pier, you could fish off it or just sit and relax on the benches in the center. This was about 23 years ago. Does anyone know if it is still there?

I think it's still there. I'm not positive, but I have been there and I know it's been less than 23 years since I was.

Default keyport ring road

When I was growing up it was called american legion drive or Ring Road. It has changed just recently. The road no longer goes all the way around you have to detour thru the parking lot of the bulkhead bar. I used to attend snapper contests as a kid. I was just in town over the last week and the next snapper contest is in Aug. The salt air and water still smell the same although with 911 the skyline of NY has changed.

That area has been fixed up and nice, including an evening stroll during a summer night.

Plus the Ye Cottege Inn is still there.

I'm not sure which one you're talking about. But, I live in the area.

Keyport has a brand new pier that is still under construction. There is a bar/restaurant called The Bulkhead. People fish there and there is a boat there that goes out early in the morning for fishing. Quiet and small town- Very nice. Even has older victorian homes.

Keansburg is 5 min. or so away and has a big amusement park. They have rides, arcades, water park and I'm guessing you can go fishing there. Keansburg is much busier than Keyport because it is known for the amusement park. Is nicer now than it was a years ago. Better reputation than it once had.

Great area- check out both.
Hope that helps!
