School rankings. .
People on here always say (insert town here) is a top 10 school in the state. Where do you find this info?
The only objective rankings I could find were School Digger.com and their rankings don't reflect that any of them are in the top 20
For example (Elementary Schools)
Taunton Forge (Medford) 38
Baker (Moorestown) 95
Signal Hill (Voorhees) 182
Elenor Rush (Cinnaminson) 214
Harte (Cherry Hill) 278
Fleetwood (Mt Laurel) 767
Same thing for High Schools
Cherry Hill East 33
Shawnee - 54
Moorestown - 57
Cinnaminson - 78
Cherokee - 82
Seneca - 101
Eastern - 105
Cherry Hill West - 131
Lenape - 157
Delran 164

The same people who put out the best towns to live in in NJ? Hummm, didn't find that to be too accurate. Our little elementary came up as 140 out of 1375... not too bad for a tiny little school in the middle of the woods : ) Seems we only have 192 students and the teacher to student ratio is only 10 to 1. I think that's about what it should be... 30 to 1 is ridiculous!

i don't like the elementary school rankings (like you, i've only found it from schooldigger) because it ONLY takes into account NCLB. i don't know the criteria that *should* be used (or if they even SHOULD be ranked), but personally i base it upon my own kids - are they learning, what are they learning, how good are their teachers, and how much parental involvement is there, and most importantly, do they like school. High Schools are a bit different as there is more criteria (AP classes, % going to college, curriculum, SAT scores, etc) for a more accurate assessment.
