West New York is okay by the water, but outside of the new condos its completely overrun by illegals and feels like youve entered the 3rd world so id personally avoid it.. If it's from Bayonne leave it alone and Harrison is okay but i feel its just become a hub for commuters to nyc who want save a few bucks. Youre looking at an hour commute from Jersey City. West Milford might be an option, not a crazy nightlife but there is train access.

There's no train service in Paramus, though, so what good would that do?
West New York is a hispanic city and is crime-infested. You shouldn't move there even if someone paid you to. Lots of illegal aliens too.
Don't know about Harrison. In Bayonne the parking is a nightmare and the cops will pull you over every chance they get. You also have to go through Greenville district of Jersey City to get out of Bayonne and that's the worst district in Jersey City. Bayonne isn't as great as it used to be.
You could probably afford an apartment in Downtown, Jersey City. Parking will be a nightmare, you'll probably have to pay for a garage. But Downtown JC is the coolest part of NJ.
Aedra speaks the truth. Stay out of those immigrant towns unless you want to live in hell.
-1040 Kennedy Boulevard at West 44th Street; heated indoor garage, rooftop lounge, directly on park; building only 1 years; a whole lot less than Newport in Jersey City. Building's jitney goes right to the light rail from the building.
-Newport, Jersey City, no rental fee, right on the water, panoramic views of manhattan, walkway right on river; garages and pool cost extra; cheapest building is 30 Newport Parkway.
-harrison new jersey; brand new buildings galore; hoardes of young folk; great restuarants; directly on the PATH train.
My husband and I are moving to Hoboken here soon and are currently looking for a 1 bd/1bath apartment to rent for $1750 or less. Any recommendations on apartments/neighborhoods to look at, or avoid?

Thanks!
Hoboken is fine, you might have to visit the block you are renting. Typically the farther west you go the less desirable it is and more hispanic it becomes.

Did a Dominican dude steal your girl or something?
No but the rents are cheaper on their blocks because its less desirable to be around them. Don't blame me, it is what it is.
Except that’s not what it is. The rents are cheaper because it’s further away from the river and there’s less access to mass transit. People aren’t purposefully avoiding living around Hispanic people in Hudson County. In fact, there’s been lots of development on the west side of town charging similar rents to the east side of town.
