Lincoln Park flooding
We are currently interested in a property in the Riveredge Road area of Lincoln Park. How bad does the flooding get there? Is it yearly?
In regards to Lincoln Park in general, what's your overall impression of the town? How are the schools? How's the commute?
Thanks!

i know only a little about the town through working there briefly and having aquaintences living there,
its a very close knit community, they have fairs etc. its a nice family town, but it does flood. i have a feeling it floods with every rain depending on where the house is...
in any case this will give you a bump...

It's a nice little community but I wouldn't buy property anywhere near the river. It floods anytime there's heavy rain.

How old are your kids? Lincoln Park kids go to Boonton High school (something Lincoln Park has fought to break from) and Boonton High school is pretty bad.

I used to live in Lincoln Park and yes the road floods all the time. I would NEVER move back to a flood zone again.

Lincoln Park is a great town, and it doesn't flood half as bad as people think it does. Very rarely do the main roads flood that you can not drive down them. In the past 5 yrs, maybe it happened twice and it is quick to subside (a day or so). That area in which you are looking is the worst part of lincoln park. Try looking more on the west end of town and you will be fine (by comly). The HS is a drawback of the the town though, so once your kids are old enough for HS, you may want to consider private school or moving.
