whiskeyecho is on a distinguished road
I graduated from Rutgers last year.

I lived above Scarlet Pub (it was DIRT CHEAP and the landlord is cool). My least favorite bar next to nearby Knight Club.

Let me just say that you do not necessarily have to be 21 to get into some of the bars on Easton. If you're female and like to show off your boobs and the bouncers are the right type of guy, you'll get in regardless of your age. And for the record.. you wouldn't catch me being one of those girls!

I never got into the frat scene but there's always Frat Row (Union St. behind the Grease Trucks).. and private house parties..

Harvest Moon on George St. was and is still my favorite (though I moved up north). Ale n Wich (up Hamilton St past Easton, walking away from campus).

I love Harvest Moon. Ale n Wich is great in summer, when their "back yard" was a great place to play cards. I also liked the beer garden atmosphere at Evelyn's. Olive Branch had 50 cent pizza slices during happy hour. Always a draw, even if the bar itself wasn't so great. Anyone get their salsa on at Nova Terra?

Take the train. NEC line down to New Brunswick. Disembark and walk, it is all in walking distance.

If you must drive, Turnpike down to Rt 18 N. Exit at George Street.

On the turnpike, it is Exit #9 and then head North Route 18. You will see signs for George Street after a mile or two.

You could take Route 1/9 south from the GWB to Route 1, if you have half a day to kill. I think the extra gas you'll burn at traffic lights and in congestion + time savings would make the $3.55 Turnpike toll well worth it though.

I drove through there last night, I did not stay

I saw all the bars, but the actual streets itself did not compare to Penn State

At Penn State we had two main streets:college ave and beaver. It was just packed with businesses. It felt like a real college town kinda streets, you know what I am saying. It was like everything there was meant specifically to cater to college kids, and those kids alone. And the streets at PSU were very well lit. Easton seemed kinda dark.

Easton felt kinda like every other New Jersey Street

would say that rutgers felt like a college town to you or just a college that was located in suburb?
