Where do Rutgers kids hang out on the weekends
Where do Rutgers kids hang out on the weekends?
Do you guys have a main street where are the bars and clubs are at like Penn State does?
Or do you guys just go to the beach or NYC?

I'm a student at Rutgers. I personally don't party, but usually frat parties (on and around College Ave.) and "private" parties at student's apartments are big. Some of the older students do frequent bars on Easton Ave., but I don't think it's that big since most of the students are younger than 21. Hanging out in NYC is also very popular, as we have direct access to the city. I'm not to sure about the beach though. I doubt it because the only warm month we have during the school year is September.

Tons of bars in NB including Golden Rail, Stuff Yer Face, etc., etc., etc. It is a party-haven for college kids.

Yeah the Easton Ave area bars are popular spots for undergrads. Grad students tend to gravitate toward the bars on and near George Street (a little more polished/grown up/professional crowd).
NYC is a popular destination on weekends, and I took the train the other way to Philly a few times too. I lived in the New Brunswick area year-round so I hit the Shore in the summer. There are great places to go up and down the whole shore... Asbury Park and Seaside Heights have a ton of bars, and there are nightlife spots in many other shore towns.

back in the days, i used to hang out in the Busch Student center and computer labs all weekend long
seriously, if you have the money and is old enough to drink legally, Easton Ave and George street have plenty of nice bars and restaurants.
If you have a car, there are some nice places to eat in downtown Princeton also.
For me, it was mostly Szechuen Express.

Yes, the grease trucks still exist and are still VERY popular amount college students. I do not see that phasing out for a while.

Very well stated. For the college students that want to be college students, they go to the bars and house parties.
For the college students that are more "mature" then tend to frequent the restaurants, some better bars, and NYC. I was never into the college scene and always frequented the restaurants and NYC. New Brunswick has LOTS to do.

There was a proposal to build a new academic building on the lot where the grease trucks sit. It was part of the new College Avenue plan. I'm not sure if that's just moving forward very slowly, or if it has been reconsidered.

Absolutely! There would be mass rioting if these were to be taken away. There's a joke that students like to say: everytime you eat a fat sandwich, your life expectancy decreases by one year.
