For it's location, NJ has a great shore. You can't expect it to be like the beaches you'd see in warm states (Cali and Florida) or the Caribbean.

I moved to Tennesee in Sept. Though it is gorgeous here with the mnts and lakes, I miss the ocean and beaches, there is no real place to swim here
unless you owna pool.I will surely miss also laying on the blanket , the sand and the sound of the ocean.

marye, the term "bennie"comes from peolpe that came from Bayonne, Elizabeth ,Newark and NY to visit the shore . As you go towards Cape May , it's caleed shoobies, that I have no clue. And the shop owners do depend on a good tourist yr for income.I know alittle about the shore I lived there 7 yrs, but all my life in Jersey until Sept.PS, I miss it too...

I hear you Phyll. I never realized how much I missed the beach until I moved to a landlocked state. However, you at least have some lakes, and rivers. There is practically no water to speak of in New Mexico, in any form. Fortunately, I make it to San Diego every year, and will usually go to Oregon, or New Jersey as well.

Thanks Phyll I always wondered what it meant. I love it there. But I will say Delaware beaches are much cleaner. Mike, that picture is gorgeous!!

No, it's my secret! I'm there every year, this year it will be the first week in August. It's a little north of La Jolla.
