We have All-Phase as do a lot of my neighbors. I thought Raritan Valley was bought out by Midco? When we had Midco it was costing close to $150/quarter.
All-Phase is inexpensive and no big garbage truck clunking and screeching through the neighborhood at 4:30 am. One guy with a pick-up truck with a "special thing" on the back.
2x a week, $95 per quarter.
Here's the # off the garbage can: 908-756-1134
Good luck!

I use Aiello Sanitation
I contracted with Aiello Sanitation in Bridgewater about 2 years ago. Very good service, no big truck just like all phase, but cheaper. I only pay 55 dollars a quarter, once a week service. Number is 908-922-2292.

I want to second Sawdustmaker's recommendation of All-Phase Disposal. They provide much more reliable service than my previous garbage collection service--Midco--and their fees are much more reasonable than Midco.
All-Phase's fee is actually $93 per quarter, rather than the $95 mentioned by Sawdustmaker. As the owner of All-Phase correctly pointed out to me, the "add-on" fees listed on the Midco bill are not actually government-mandated (despite their official-sounding names), and in fact, are just quasi-official sounding extra fees that Midco arbitrarily tacks onto your bill!
To give you an idea of the great service from All-Phase, one morning I was a bit late in getting my container out to the curb for collection. Rather than simply passing me by, the All-Phase driver walked all the way up my long driveway to get my trash from the container!
One caution for those switching from Midco:
Be sure to notify Midco in writing that you are canceling their service, and save copies of your correspondence!
I wound up in a "pissing contest" with them, with Midco's employees repeatedly telling me that I had not canceled, and with them levying various late payment fees on my closed account.
This battle of the wills went on for about 3 months until I finally managed to speak with Midco's Controller. Eventually, I actually succeeded in getting him to refund the postage for several certified letters that I sent to Midco, and I collected a "mileage charge" for having to drive to their offices in order to straighten out the mess that was created by their accounting staff.
Trust me, you will be much happier with All-Phase than with Midco!

I guess the garbage business has changed in NJ over the years. Used to be you used the company that "owned "the territory where you lived. I guess the garbage business in not a "family" business any longer.

I just switched from Midco to All Phase. I have been happy so far with this company. They have actually walked up my driveway a few times to empty my bins! Talk about service. I don't create much trash thus I do not always put my bins out.
On rare occasions, I have a few extra bags of junk (just moved into the area) and they don't give me any issues, unlike Midco who would never pick up anything other than one bin-worth of trash.

Just to follow up belatedly with the post above, Blue Star no longer exists in this area.
As Sawdustmaker noted, Blue Star was bought out by Midco several years ago. Blessedqueen probably still has one of the old Blue Star containers, but her payments must go to Midco as they are the ones doing the collection.
As to twice a week pickups, that is optional with Midco. Some of my neighbors who have stayed with the over-priced Midco service have reduced their collections to once per week in order to reduce the costs. Their containers now bear a very large " 1 X" sticker, in order to remind the driver not to collect their garbage more than once a week.
As to the "reasonable and very kind" comment, my treatment by several of Midco's employees was the antithesis of "kind", and a significant portion of their billing consists of arbitrary add-on fees that are made to sound like government-mandated fees.

Thank you ALL. I live in North Edison and am looking for less expensive carting. Part of Edison gets free garbage pick up. We pay more taxes in the part that I live in AND have to pay for garbage. All things are not equal in this township! I plan to call All Phase today

If you are currently paying Midco's ridiculous rates, call them (908-561-8380) and threaten to cancel.
They offered me a rate of $89 per quarter for one year, so I took it.
I was paying $130 per quarter, so this is a nice deal!
Thanks for starting this thread; I've been thinking about switching to All-Phase for a while, but I guess I'll stick with Midco for now...
