Who can help? Atlantic City Hotels??
Next weekend I am spending one or two nights in Atlantic City, NJ for a weekend getaway. Can anyone suggest good hotels that have a view of the beach? I won't be gambling, but don't mind staying near the casinos.
Also, would it be better/cheaper/safer to stay someplace like Wildwood and just drive up to the Atlantic City area? I've never been to this part of NJ before and need all the suggestions I can get!

If you are not gambling I would suggest skipping AC. Apart from some good places to eat and the occasional show there isn't anyting much else worthwhile there. Try Cape May instead for a weekend getaway.

Go to the borgota. I don't gamble either but it's a beautiful hotel. I usually despised Atlantic City but the borgota is really nice. And the buffet was awesome. I don't gamble though so I can't really say about the gaming. they a wind generator now!

Stay at Harrah's On The Marina.
The Boardwalk hotels will usually have the riff-raff that wanders in from the boardwalk.

I just went to AC this past Saturday. The Tropicana is beautiful. They just re-furbished it about 3 yrs ago.
I just read in today's paper that a man was stabbed to death at the Trump Taj Mahal.
Good Luck!

Don't go to the Borgota; it is a beautiful hotel; but no view of the beach. Like UKOK said; if you aren't going to gamble; skip AC all together and stay at another beach!

You don't have to skip AC altogether just b/c you don't gamble. I don't gamble either and I always have fun in AC (shopping, nightclub and conventions usually).
If you only want a beach, the Jersey shore has a host of other options and AC may be over the top for someone simply looking for a cool breeze and sand. However, the other options have the beach as the main attraction.
Borgata is sweet and so is Harrah's indoor pool/spa (huge). They'll make you forget about the beach for sure.

Everytime I go - I stay at the Tropicana. It is not as expensive as the Borgata, but just as nice. The Tropicana has a quartet that offers an area of average priced restuarants and shopping. I love it there. It's centrally located in A/C on the boardwalk with lots to do. :-)

I second this. I stayed there last summer and the pool/spa is to DIE for. DIE, I tell ya. Absolutely gorgeous (indoor). I kept saying "I can't believe I'm in Atlantic City". Here are a few pix:
