I don't have a Facebook account. What's on the list?
Two Guys, Betrand's Island, Woolworths, Latin Casino in Cherry Hill, Capitol Theatre, Cafe Hofbrau, Grant's Korvette, Short Stop diner in Bloomfield (I loved that place), The Playboy Club in Vernon, Good Humor Ice Cream, Channel Lumber, Clam Broth House in Hoboken, Rickel Home Center, Kiddie Land in Pine Brook, US 1 Flea Market in New Brunswick, Nobody Beats the Wiz, McCrory's, J.J. Newberry Co, The Friar Tuck Inn in Cedar Grove, Rustler Steakhouse, Becker's Farm in Roseland (which I forgot about until watching this video), Crazy Eddie, Larison's Turkey Farm in Chester, Wetson's Hamburgers, Amboys Drive In Theatre, Gimbel's, Old Giants Stadium, Ames, Caldor, Burger Chef, Service Merchandise, Rondo Music, Bamberger's, Palisades Amusement Park. What a blast. Most of these places I remember around age 8-18.
NJ is an interesting state in that it is many things to many people. I'm a little on the younger side but for the most part a lot of those places I've only heard about, never really been to, except maybe just passing through. I only know of Two Guys because my dad bought the Remington 1100 12 gauge I'll be using during buck week there a little over forty years ago. I think he paid $250 for it (which was a decent chunk of change back then). Now you can't touch a decent 12 gauge semi-auto 3-1/2" magnum shotgun for less than $1000
Wally's Tavern on the Hill, scotch plains , The Red Bull Inn, Somerville, rt. 22, cole's luncheonette, Millburn, The Public House, Chester, used to have the best Sunday brunch, right down the street from Larson's Turkey Farm, Bonds on Morris Ave, in short hills; ice cream joint, home of the "awful, aweful
I'd have to think a bit more, because I haven't lived in Jersey since '89.
Love your list, mike. Good memories!
