NJ is the 2nd largest world supplier to cranberries, and surprisingly makes the world's best tasting corn, tomatoes etc is the world. Proudly wear the badge of the Garden State.

The Tax Me State lol!

There will be an exodus for sure, they will never learn IMO.

Also Hammonton, NJ is the blueberry "capital of the world" as I live about 15 or so minutes from there and I love blueberries!

I have a local farm where I buy my produce in the summer (Colt's Neck) and they always sell blueberries from down there.

IIRC, it raised livestock, rather than crops.
I think people forget, or didn't consider, that orchard fruit, livestock, and trees are farm products. Who hasn't heard of a Christmas tree farm?

Dr. Frederick V. Coville and Elizabeth Coleman White are responsible for that. Coville's research and White's persistence convinced some farmers that blueberry production could be profitable.

In my town in Central NJ, there are at least 5 xmas tree farms, a dairy farm, two livestock farms, and several farms that produce vegetables in season.

I stop off at Delicious Orchards as often as I can and I can remember when it really was a roadside stand

The farm I go to is on CR 537. Laurino's.

It's nice. In spring, when they advertise lettuce, you don't see any lettuce on the stand. That's because if you want lettuce, one of them runs over to the field and cuts it for you.

LOL, you just gave me a flashback moment. Farm in Wall NJ has a great roadside stand and years ago when all the Old Hotels were still up in Spring Lake in the early 70's I was there with my Mother and this cars load of NYer's come up and the're walking around and the women wants to 6 (not 7) 6 "FRESH EARS" of corn and she made it abundantly clear. The women in charge goes ...sure and says just a sec....., walks over into the corn field and picks 6 ears pf corn ,bags it the women pays for it and off they go. LOL, we knew and the women working knew the corn in the field wasn't ready yet but she did say the customer is always right!!!
