Hi! We are relocating back to nj for family and a top notch school district. We are considering mountain lakes and Madison. We fell in love with both towns which one would you prefer to live in. My husband is working from home so commuting isn’t an issue...but we like the idea of train station in Madison for further jobs in the city if need be! We did live in Bergen county and are looking for similar type school systems. (Prior was Glen rock) but I cannot stomach the traffic any further in Bergen county. Thanks!!
Both towns are great, and can’t go wrong. Personally prefer Moutain Lakes because it’s a beautiful town with lake views and the houses are gorgeous. Madison does have a nice downtown. Commuting I’d say is even to the City. It’s the same train line between Madison and Mountain Lakes/Denville, however it’s an extra 15 minutes to go from Mountain Lakes. However I do believe there are better and quicker options to take the bus from Parsippany.
All the towns in the area are excellent. You'd be better off house hunting and finding what you like than narrowing down to one single town.
