Hello,

I am considering moving to NJ for an employer located in Wall, NJ. My concern, however, is the cost of living increase I’ll have to endure and the quality of schools for my young children should I live in a neighborhood I can afford. Can someone please help me with recommendations as to where I can live with a reasonable commute in rush hour traffic (say less than an hour) and that has a decent school system? Thanks so much in advance!!

Thank you for your reply. For housing I would like to keep it around $2,500/month for a 3 bedroom place, but could stretch it to as much as $3,000 if need be to find myself in a good school district. Not sure if within this price range buying or renting is my best option considering commute and schools. Should you have any thoughts in that regard, it would also be greatly appreciated.

Would you live in a condo/townhouse, or does it have to be a sfh?

My preference would be a house, but am open to other options as long as they are at least 1800 sq ft.

If your employer is located in Wall, NJ, you have plenty of options in still keeping within your 1hr commute time frame. Overall, Monmouth county would be a great bet for your needs. You can find many options for purchase in your price range, of course, depending on the amount of money you have to put down.
Where are you locating from?
What are some other needs besides 3 bedrooms and 1 hour commute?
Do you need to be in a neighborhood? Do you need lots of property?
Your search seems very vague. Have you spoken to a realtor yet?
What is your time frame?
