Default relocating to morris county

My boyfreind got a job with Bayer so we have to relocate to northern new jersey. We need to stay no farther then 45 minutes commute of wayne. Anyone have any ideas. we looked in morristown but homes coparable to what we have in az go for milions. We are looking in the range of 800 to 1 million. The problem is homes in this range seem to be either dumps or a nice house surrounded by dumps. Any help would be much appreciated. thanx

Here we go again with the million dollar dump homes .

Seriously though, there are tons of homes within a 45 minute commute to Wayne in that price range that are not dumps or surrounded by dumps. Try Upper Montclair, Fairfield, Montville or Mountain Lakes.

I have feelings of Deja Vu here as we just had a thread like this with someone contemplating a relocation from Georgia.

You are NOT going to get here what you would in AZ in that price range
Most of the towns in the wayne area, Lincoln Pk, Pequannock etc are middle class and you have to watch for flooding in those areas...

Try Montville or Towaco further up Rt 23 Kinnelon, Smoke Rise was always a nice place..don't know what those homes are going for now though

North Caldwell as well

Agreed.

I wish someone would give me one of these "million dollar dumps" - I'd be on a plane to NJ faster than you could say "Here you are!"

If you want a home comparable to your home in AZ be prepared to spend more than a million, remember it's all about location, location, location. Check out towns like Alpine, Upper Saddle River and the likes in Bergen county, some might be an hour away from Wayne, but well worth it. There's plenty of 2 million + inventory in that area I'm sure. Us poo people will have to manage in our modest 700 to a million dollar dumps.

I lived in Pequannock alomst all my life.........a small section is flood and the same goes for Pompton Plains. Wayne is huge and the areas that flood are small. You can find a nice house in that price range in non flood without a problem. Pequannock and Pompton Plains has the lowest tax rate besides Riverdale in that section. So You wont have a problem finding a house....check out toward MT Ave in Pompton Plains.....its gorgeous.
