Also, The Viking Bakery in Denville. Another great spot that is still in existence. Is Santa's Village still across the street from there?

I don't recall seeing Santa's Village in Denville so I am assuming it is gone : ( Denville Dairy is still there and so is Mrs hErbs. Denville is a great place - I miss living there ; (

Let's see...I grew up in South River, but I've been gone from Jersey for awhile. I think I can remember a few things.

Chocolate dipped cones at the Zesto's on Rt. 18 in East Brunswick.

Sidewalk sales at Two Guys on Rt. 18 in EB.

Candy Bars from Meltzer's Store in South River.

Fried Flounder from this fish place on Cranbury Road on the South River/East Brunswick line.

Parking on the roof at Arnold Constable in New Brunswick. I always thought it was so cool that you could park on the roof.

Going to the beach at Point Pleasant when ALL of my friends were going to what I knew was the way cooler Seaside Heights.

Grilled frankfurts and pistachio ice cream at the Howard Johnson's on Rt. 18 in New Brunswick right before the Rt. 1 turn off to Edison.

The Bamberger's on Rt. 18 in East Brunswick was like that, too, before there was ever a Brunswick Square Mall.

Corvettes, Two Guys - I remember all the merchandise being roped off on Sundays because of the blue laws.

How about The Lost Picture Show in Union?

The OB Diner?

I really loved reading all of your posts, being that I had never heard of about 97% of the places you guys mentioned. There are only two places that I used to go to as a kid (that I can remember) that aren't around anymore. Both were on Route 46 in Clifton (the area where Route 21, 20, 46 and GSP all seem to meet; close to The Hot Grill). One was "The Magic Fountain", an ice cream shop that is now a store that sells fences. The other was a formal restaurant (I believe it was Italian) with a white facade which was demolished in order to build the new stretch of highway. There was a McDonald's close by that was also demolished. Does anyone know the name of that restaurant?

I remember that restaurant - I use to eat there a lot. I also remember the Mc Donalds.

I also know most of these places everyone has mention and some of them are still there.
