OMG - the memories! Tice's Farm, Alexander's, Garden State Plaza when it was open-air and the drive-in next door. But the one that ranks high on the list is Jahn's Ice Cream Palor! Wow - can't believe is almost forgot about this place.

When it was your birthday, you got a free dish of ice cream. That was a novelty back then. Also - remember the wait staff? They didn't write anything down. They had to memorize the entire order!

The loss of the farms in Montvale is a shame. I remember going to Van Riper's on class trips and riding our bikes to Tice's. Remember the fresh doughnuts and apple cider from the spigots?

I find it ironic and funny that now there's an Apple (computer) store at Tice's.

Bamberger*s, the original anchor of what was then known as Monmouth Shopping Center. Today it is Macy*s and of course, a vastly larger Monmouth Mall.

Are you thinking of Roosevelt Stadium? I took my driver's test around there.

And another nod to the roasted peanut guy outside of the route 1 flea market. That place was great. Anyone remember some of the announcements over the PA there? The one that sticks out...

My favorite memory from the Route 1 flea market is the pickles- big 50-gallon drums full of huge sour pickles- you just reached in with the tongs and wrapped one in some wax paper, and walked all over the flea market dripping pickle juice on the floor, yourself, and anything that got in your way......lol.

We met Scott Muni from WNEW outside the Capitol Theater in Passaic at a bar and we bought him a drink before a Who concert. He gave us 2 third row center tickets for the concert and we had the best show of our life. Now that was a band in it's day. The Capital Theater anyone remember that. We used to go see Southside Johnny on New Years eve there. Seen the Blues Brothers in thier prime out there. John Belushi doing a cartwheel into the audience. Oh I'll stop i'm starting to show my age.
