Arthur Treachers in Paramus Park is gone... I have not seen one in the Plaza, but I may have to check it out. LOVED that place.. The fish, chips, LEMON LUV, Hushpuppies, Corn Dogs...all very healthy! LOL

I don't remember where it was but I was really little and my grandparents took me on a DAY TRIP to go to the first one to open in NJ! LOL!

Spekaing of Fish & Chips...I loved when Kearny was all Scottish and Irish and had those GREAT Fish & Chip places, The ARgyle, Thistle, Heathers, Thompsons... I think Argyle and Thistle are still there... but not the same. It's been a long time. since I've been there.

"Oh, Shrimp, Shrimp, Shrimp, Shrimp...STEAKS?" All bug eyed like that. LOL Yep, remember that - but the shrimp were AWFUL but I was a kid, what did i care? LOL

OK - I remembered some more.

This was when I was VERY young, but does anyone remember UNCLE MILTIES in Bayone? I have to see if I can find anything on it on line, I remember my parents taking me there and I thought it was the coolest thing on earth.

Gingerbread Castle up by WWC and Storybook Forrest and Space Farms. LOVED GC... There was a place called the Iron Kettle we'd eat at on the way that had homemade peach pie to DIE for.

Do you remember GINO'S?

Now, these were already mentioned but I want to share my memories...

TWO GUYS - man how much fun I had "hiding" in the racks of clothing when Mom & Grandma were taking TOO LONG shopping. We used to frequent the North Bergen one... remember that became some lame flea market for a while - where I bought plenty of Purple Nail Polish, and Journey baseball shirts in the 80's... then TSS Seedmans... now it's a Food Basics (Where you can get some really good deals, btw...lol)

There is still a Valley Fair in Little Ferry. I have not been, but my Mom swears by it. Remember teh one in JC on 440 not far from ROOSEVELT stadium? LOL That was abandoned for years and my friends used to hang out behind it (not me, I was a nerd and afraid. LOL) But apparently the water was NEON GREEN and we wonder why so many people get cancer in our great state?

Last but not least... MR SOFTEE TRUCKS? Do you remember getting the ones made to look (well, sort of look) like a cat or a dog? I loved them!

Yes Two Guys has been mentioned a lot-a lot of fond memories. That is funny- I used to hide in the racks all the time too. I think I may have posted this earlier, but I used to get "lost" on purpose and then go to the desk and they would announce my mom's name over the loud speaker and she would have to come and get me. It used to tick her off and I would do it all the time.

I'm sure your Mom REALLY appreciated that. LOL

You know, I remember going to Great Adventure (note, GREAT ADVENTURE, not Six Flags...LOL) when it FIRST opened. Man, there was NOTHING there. Big park land with a carousel, a train, ferris wheel, the fountain and a few other things... but nothing much.....

And another thing, you are not a true JERSEYAN if the Baboons have not ripped something off of your car in Great Adventure's safari at one point! LOL!
