And yet, Tahiti, people here actually ingest that s**t. And like it.

The most edible thing at CC is the tickets that come out of the machines after you throw a 500 in skeeball. Of course, you have spend about 50 bucks to accumulate enough of these to obtain a plastic siren whistle that was assembled by some 13 year old in Shandong making 7 bucks a day.

My favorite place to go as a kid was Farrell's. Old-fashioned ice cream parlor fun!

I also really liked the Ground Round because as if throwing peanut shells on the floor wasn't enough fun for you, they showed cartoons on a projector screen while you ate... Cartoons!

Mr. Steak and Jersey Freeze were favorites.

Seaview Square Mall, Bradlees, Two Guys, Jamesway

The movie theater in Freehold (that was next to the Two Guys, then Jamesway, and now Burlington Coat Factory)
The Pond Road movie theater, which then became the $2 movie theater, and then closed.

Skateway 9, where I had my 10th birthday party.

My first job was at Fayva, which if you recall was the precursor to Payless. Oh the stories I could tell you about some people who shop for cheap shoes!

Towards the end of Beefsteak Charlie's existence they were offering free shrimp and customers were eating and enjoying so much shrimp saying "shrimp-shrimp-shrimp" while eating it that when the waitress finally served the customers order they said "STEAKS?" after the customers had stuffed their faces of that free shrimp.

OMG! Was there one in NJ? My mom and I used to go to the one at the Staten Island Mall all the time! I used to love to walk through the "candy store" portion of the restaurant.

Wow, I forgot about Mr Steak. We had one in Brick. We also had a Beefsteak Charlies on the Laurelton Circle. It later became a dinner/theatre (OMG - my parents loved to drag us to that place!).

Did anyone ever go out Route 70 past Lakehurst to the Blueberry Farms and spend your day picking (freakin') blueberries in the hot, miserable summer weather?

Let's not forget the Shipwheel Inn in Brielle for nightlife, the WT Grant's store in Toms River for after church brunch and shopping, and going out for dinner to the Rustler or Bonanza cafeteria style steak places.

There was a Rustler in West Caldwell, went there a ton of times when I was a kid.

I loved Farrells too. Remember the loud sirens they played for the birthday boy or girl??

Always liked getting the popcorn at the Ground Round too as a kid.

And when i was about 12 I saved up all my money from being a paper girl (News Tribune)... I bought my first/only pair of cowboy boots at Fayva.
