Looking to rent 3b/2b or 2b/2b in bergen county. 9 year and 4 yr old kids. Please suggest some areas (will eventually buy but want to get a feel of area for about an year)
Things looking for:
1) school with good test scores
2) Indian community presence (for diversity in school) - don't like kids to be the only Indian kid in class
3) family/safe neighborhood with kids activities
What are some popular towns with Indians in Bergen county?
Ridgewood definitely has an Indian community, particularly with the hospital there.
Fair Lawn also, long established. My niece will be 40 in a couple of weeks, and she is still close friends with an Indian woman with whom she bonded back in high school.
Your kid won't be the only Indian kid in pretty much most schools in NJ, I'd bet. Folks from India have established a presence for a couple of decades now. You're not a novelty anymore.
TONS of desis further down south in Piscataway and Edison.
Don’t see too many in Bergen.
Bergen actually has tons of people of Indian background but they are generally more assimilated and like any other Americans (I actually know quite a few half white/half indians). Edison, etc are more ethnic enclaves IMO and that doesn’t seem to be what the OP wants.
OP: it all depends on your budget, but you will find Indians all over the county.

Beat me to it. I already mentioned that my niece, who is FORTY, has Indians friends from her high school days in Fair Lawn, and in fact her HS boyfriend was Indian. People from India have been around for decades now in the Bergen County towns.
Even in little Midland Park, population less than 7K, there were a few Indian families and I knew one white/Indian couple who are in their 50s and whose grown daughters went to school there. They are divorced now, but the wife still works for one of the local towns and is an EMT besides.
And Ridgewood has a well-regarded hospital and a lot of the doctors live there. You really don't think any of those doctors are Indian, huh?
So, yes, in Bergen County you will find more assimilated people of Indian background.
