I grew up in Monroe Township when it was farmland/rural. All my friends' families were Christian. We didn't have to close school for Yom Kippur and Christmas vacation was called Christmas vacation. Since then alot of Jewish retirees have come down from New York. The retirement communities have many Jewish people. The original church in Rossmoor is now called a 'meeting house'...whether it's because of the Jews or atheists, I don't know. Lately I have noticed an influx of Indian people to Monroe Township...I don't know whether they would be Muslim or Buddhist. The Monroe Mansions are popping up all over, again, people coming down from NY. Monroe Township has totally changed in character since the 60's. Very overcrowded, no farmland left. Terrible planning on the township's part...there must be a dozen retirement communities that have gobbled up all the land. I wouldn't say Monroe is mostly Jewish, there are plenty of NY Catholics that have come down...but there are certainly way more Jewish people than 40 years ago.
Move to jamesburg, ok town, better than many in jersey
[quote=Diane Giam;3461655]It's a good place if you want a quick trip to Mexico, no flying required.
Seriously, there are nicer towns near it, Monroe for example.

[quote=LoveToby1997;6373516]That is a very normal answer by people who no very little about the town of Jamesburg and and its surrounding area in Middlesex county and the other counties. You should look around and try to get to know the people and the town.
I used to go to Jamesburg weekly about 1997. Monroe was starting to be built up and there was very little to Jamesburg. Since then, what a difference. Now I go there every so often and get lost most times when trying to get home. I get so lost by the new "cookie cutter communities". Though they are beautiful homes, they feel very cold. I wouldn't want to live in a town made up of so many of those new communities. No longer charming towns. Very sad.
I hope Cranbury hasn't changed as much. It was such a cute town.
August 2021 update. Mendoker's Bakery is closed, Building sits empty. Great loss to the town. Possibly partly due to tyrannical lockdowns, fear mongering and 2020 disastrous decisions. At any rate, another great business bites the dust. Jamesburg pizza left years ago. Mexican restaurant no longer downtown, moved to the edge of town. Christian book store closed. No coffee shop with outside seating unless you count DD's on a congested county road. County park was blocked to taxpayers during spring of 2020 by tyrannical freeholders who thought fresh air was bad for you. And still no health food/organic food shop. Need one! So if you want to open one, including serve organic coffee, come on then! You'd be most welcome!!! =)
Is Dock's Corner Tavern still there? Had some great times there 2012-15 ish.
