Hi,

I am planning to move to Edison. But, I work near World Trade Center, NYC . I want to know what is the easy and cheapest way to commute from Edison . Can I take a car from Edison and park in Jersey City where I need to pay 100 usd per month for parking and then take a train from there or it is better to directly take train from Edison to World Trade Center. Which is more economical? Thanks in advance.

No recent daily experience myself but my first guess would be NJ Transit from Edison to Newark and Path train from Newark to WTC.

You can also try going to what I call Ergo,, Evil racist google maps and plug in you start and end points and choose what time and day for reasonable time estimates and various options.

Exactly where in Jersey City would you be able to pay only $100 month for parking?

This.

Street parking permit for downtown along Grove and Exchange stations used to be $125 p/month but that has probably increased. The cheapest 24/7 lot I know of is $220 p/month at the Edison Fastpark, most garages are $260+ p/month.

OP: Try the NJ Transit website to look for bus routes.

Just the drive alone will cost you over $6/day in tolls unless you plan on taking a toll-free route which can easily be a 45-70min drive from Edison. I remember atleast 3-4 days where it takes 40mins just to get from Kearny to JC due to severe backup of trucks and bus blocking all routes around the area.

There is no parking under $250/month in JC. The cheapest would be employee parking for private lots.
Even those are over $150-200 month. Parking is just part of the problem, the main problem is traffic. Getting into JC is very difficult in the morning. If it was that easy most people would've done that instead of parking in Newark.

The best way to JC is by PATH from Newark area.

From Edison Train Station you can take Northeast line trains to either Newark PENN and transfer to PATH to WTC - or go straight to NYC and take downtown line 2,3 to Fulton Center or A/E to WTC/Chambers
