Apparently a NJT worker made an error causing doors to open on wrong side, and a passenger fell out of train onto tracks.

It doesn't say but I'd assume for that to happen that he was leaning against the doors. Fearing they'll open when they're not supposed to is the reason why I never lean against train doors on any train (subway, PATH, NJT, LIRR). I see people leaning against them all the time. I guess they just don't think it's going to happen but I won't risk it. This guy is lucky he didn't get seriously hurt or killed.

As liberals are wont to say, that was just one person out of hundreds of thousands, nothing to see here, move on.

That's why the doors all have signs that say DO NOT LEAN ON THE DOORS but of course some people feel that they didn't mean THEM.

NJ Transit slogan: "This is no way to run a railroad". And here I was annoyed because I had to walk from Maplewood to South Orange as a result of their incompetence. If I'd fallen out of a train (say, because it was overcrowded and against the door was the only place to be) I'd probably be in jail now for attacking an NJ transit employee. Nice to know that as a state agency NJ Transit doesn't have to worry about being sued.
