Hi,

I read about the "Trenton Spillover" many times in this forum. How is the quality of the Hamilton Township, NJ East of 295 and of real estate in general?

I have driven through Hamilton Square and Mercerville several times and saw nice homes and tidy neighborhoods. I wanted some insight because I am considering buying a home east of the 295 and will commute into NYC via the Hamilton Train Station.

My kids are all grown up so I am not concerned about the schools, although I heard that Steinart H.S. is decent. The home is for my wife and me primarily, plus my adult kids just-in-case they are still tyring to figure out their lives...

I do plan to re-sell this home in a few years as I get closer to retirement (5 to 10 years), so resale value is important to me.

Thanks -

I don't know what your budget is, but have you checked out Lawrence? Lots of options there. Lawrence HS has a great reputation. You're 20 minutes away from Quakerbridge and Mercer Malls, TJ's, Whole Foods, etc, etc. Also, West Windsor, Princeton Junction could be options (Princeton Junction train station). Again, suggestions based on not knowing your budget.

Hamilton Square and Mercerville are pretty much not affected by Trenton and have some lovely quiet neighborhoods.

Not sure what the parking is like at the Hamilton Station now but it is certainly better than the Princeton Junction Station.

Steinert School District is the best of the 3 High Schools in Hamilton so resale might be better.

Agreed geographically that area of Hamilton Township is very far removed from Trenton.
