Avoiding tickets involves not being "the outlier". Driving at the prevailing speed on a highway is a pretty good way of avoiding both tickets and accidents. Using a Valentine 1 Radar/Laser detector also helps one to avoid being ticketed.

I use Waze pretty much wherever I go and I'd say at least 90% of the time it gives me an accurate warning of when police are ahead.

As a person from NY, it feels like ppl absolutely fly on the Turnpike

Down south Interstate driving is a much pleasurable experience and the speed limits are higher

We have laws, the laws tell us. I follow the law.

That is exactly the point. Follow the law. Far too many accidents and fatalities on the road because of people who have never grown up.

Just because you drive fast and you weren't killed doesn't mean you didn't cause other accidents. We have laws for a reason.

The point of the post given with an example is that the law is not being followed because its outdated. Its also illegal to use the left lane and go under 65mph under most circumstances.

There is no point. You like to drive fast. That doesn't mean we need to drive faster. It isn't outdated. There is a ton of data to support the lowered speed limits save lives. It always has and always will. This is why we have laws, because some people think they are an exception to them. They are not.

Not driving at all saves lives. If you read my first post, I stated that I drove 100 miles forced going the speed limit and everyone and their grandmother passed me. The flow of all traffic for most highways is 80mph, if you're not going with the flow of traffic people will go around you which statistically is more dangerous. The laws need to reflect the true nature of the road, to eliminate the minority who refuse to go with the flow of the traffic.

I don't think that he'd be in the left lane.
