Hello,
My first payment with COBRA is due today. It is a Sunday. I was told when I called last week, that as long as my payment is postmarked by the due date, i would not have a problem. Being that the due date is a Sunday, will it be ok to be post marked tomorrow? I tried to pay online, i was unable to. Thanks

Do you live anywhere near a 24-hour post office? (Often near downtowns or airports.) Or a FedEx/UPS store that is open on Sunday? I wouldn't risk being late with the payment.

That's a good suggestion and not to be overly snarky but I have to ask, as serious and important as Cobra is, why would you leave it so close to the wire? I would think for peace of mind if it is due today that I would have mailed it last Tuesday or Wednesday to not have to worry about it.

I don't know how much you're paying but COBRA is usually a waste of money. You can shop and find better priced healthcare plans without going through employer COBRA.

That depends entirely on a specific situation for the insured including if they are in a particular PPO. COBRA is not a bad bridge until they can figure out a different solution. As for waiting to the last postmark day to mail something as critical as a COBRA payment, who does that?
