Can anyone tell me approximately how long the trip would take to self-drive from Hacketstown to Manhattan (around Battery Park)? Thanks!

What day of the week and at what time? This info is very important. I could be anywhere from 1 hour to 3 hours.

The only way to really know is depending on how much traffic is going into the Holland, into Jersey City and into the Lincoln Tunnel.

The reason I say that is because you'll probably take 80 east to 280 east and 280 east will take you to the Holland Tunnel. A straight simple easy ride, but along the way you got the traffic going into Jersey City/Newport, also going into Hoboken, some traffic going via 1/9 towards secaucus and also going to the Lincoln Tunnel so right in the middle of Jersey City is where you'll probably hit most of your traffic if you're lucky enough to avoid it on 80 and 280. If you pick a bad day and time, you may find yourself in a 2 hour commute 2 1/2 hours if you don't have EZ-pass.

If there is absolutely no traffic you can probably do it in about 45 minutes. I go all the time in the summer to hang out or ride the ferries w/my children.

There is a train station in Hackettstown that can take you straight to the city.

Yes, but it doesn't run on weekends.

I live about 10 miles from NYC and it takes me about 45 min to get to Hackettstown on Rt 80 in no traffic, depending what part of the city your are commuting to add on another 1/2 hour to 45 minutes to that. On Friday nights you will probably hit traffic going back to Hackettstown though where 280 and 80 meet.

Thanks! The drive will be during working hours-but the exact time schedule can be adjusted around the busiest morning and evening rush hours. I was just curious if Hackettstown is one of the cities common for people to commute to NYC from. I have read on the forum that the trains from Hackettstown take forever with all the stops, however, we will be driving our own car.
