I'm a hockey fan and I'll be in the area for a few Devils games during the season.

Is scalping tickets around the arena allowed or even common? I'd expect a discount, though, not a marked up price for most games.

Is StubHub maybe the most common or even Ticketmaster?

And I think most or all teams let season ticket holders sell unused tix on Ticketmaster, where maybe weeknight games would sell for less there than the box office or team site?

I've heard positive feedback about GameTime from someone a few months ago, but unsure if it's a national site or really any cheaper.

...

Is Hobby's Deli a good choice for pre game? It seems to be popular with Devils fans, and they have a few sandwiches named after former or current stars. They close late afternoon and Sunday, so fans don't really have a chance to eat there most games?

I don't think the Devils really have that big of a following (as you can clearly see from the lack of responses to this thread) so I can't imagine that you would ever have to pay anything above face value, especially for a regular game this early in the season. I think your best bet would be to just go on Stubhub the day of the game (or the day before the game).

Use stubhub or seatgeek.

I went last Monday and a Devil's team associate upgraded our seats for free and we ended up sitting lower level row 5.

Buy on Stubhub an hour or so before game time. Prices drop drastically, you can probably get a great seat under $50. I did this for the Yankees this past week and sat 2- rows behind home plaet for $150.

Just make sure the pick you are buying is a mobile pick and doesn't require a printed PDF.

A weekday game against a Western Conference opponent is your best bet. Stubhub prices will most likely be better than face value, especially with the team's terrible start.

Some scalpers hang around the arena, but they seem shady.

Hobby's Deli is delicious and pricey, but the portions are solid. They stay open on game days until puck drop. I'd also recommend Dino BBQ or McWhorter BBQ.

My wife and I really enjoy going to at least one Devil's game per season (even though we are not huge hockey fans). Every season, there are always certain games that go very cheap on stubhub, (normally around February). Last year we saw them play for about $15 plus taxes each. I believe it was a Thursday evening game. Not sure if you will find those prices yet. If not, start checking after Christmas.
