We did this, but not the eggs (too fragile), in central NJ in the 1970s.

Yes, my experiences were all 1970s (I graduated from high school in 1976.)

Oh...you're young, only 4 years my senior (Class of 1980). I thought you were a retiree who moved from northern NJ to/near the Jersey Shore.

I am 61. I AM a retiree, but I moved from northern NJ near the Jersey Shore six years before I retired. I really couldn't afford to live in Bergen County, but I'd rented in my hometown so that my daughter could go to my mother's after school because I worked in the city.

Once she graduated from high school, I bailed to down here because there were condos I could afford, plus the ocean is nearby (I'm about five miles inland, not in a beach town.)

I retired almost four years ago, but I still work part-time. I got a good offer related to my previous work life. Work's easy, money's good, no stress, and I only work when I'm available. It's helping me make up for the years when I lived paycheck to paycheck and in perpetual debt to get my kid to adulthood and through college.
