Default Seriously?

Who goes to Seaside anymore? Or maybe I should ask WHAT goes to Sleezside anymore? It got scary in the 90's...with the infestation from Staten Island.

Nooooo way. Gimme Point Pleasant any day, and that's even gotten skankier over the years.

Jersey Shore Stinks anymore. White trash central. I feel for the year-rounds and the weekend-owners. I'd rather drive 8 hours to the Outerbanks in NC or 5 hours to Annapolis MD any day than waste time on the Jersey Shore.

LBI isn't so bad, but the island traffic is ridiculous. And it seems that Staten Isand has found it's way to LBI as well.

Yuck, just Yuck.

Not all of the Jersey Shore stinks, there are some VERY nice areas of the shore. I think Seaside actually has got a little better over the years, I remember when I was younger it was the pits.

The last time I took my son I don't think it was that bad at all.

Ortley has always been nice, growing up we use to stay in Lavallete which is the next town.

When I would go to the beach for the day, I would got to Island Beach State Park and then head over to Seaside to walk the boardwalk.

Seaside Park is nice, next to seaside heights. But if u want the tropical Hawaiin/Fijis vacation experience go to CapeMay/Wildwood or try a long island beach. or coney island, but once there a bra got caught on my leg in the water

I'm with you Jacked! I have great memories as a kid, foggy but
fun memories as a teenager/young 20's and now I love taking my son there and/or hanging with my family. I LOVE SEASIDE! It really does look good. It is THE PLACE to party in the summer. There is no boardwalk in LBI right? You can't get a drink on the boardwalk in Wildwood and I haven't foud another beach area with that boardwalk excitement when it gets dark. I lived ON THE beach in SC and it didn't hold a candle to Seaside!

Seaside gets a bad wrap because the state made a point to locate section 8 housing there. With that some of the town went downhill as the school test scores consistantly were one of the lowest in the county. Throw in the absenty slumlords and many properties went downhill. When we were kids we couldn't wait for the 2 or 3 weekends our parents took us there. I make a trip at least once or twice a year during the mid week.

I agree that the shore for the most part can be less than appealing in many areas but many do not visit LBI or Wildwood because of the distance and the fact that it is so far for just a weekend.
