We are looking in the Pompton Lakes area and were very dismayed when some people told us there are drug problems in that area. We have driven through this lovely town and there is no indication of anything like this. Can anyone offer some insight?
There are drugs everywhere. I used to live close to that town it is nice...But that town has the highest taxes on that area......there are areas that flood also. I would look into Pompton plains or Pequannock before going to Pompton Lakes.
by the way.you cannot just drive through a town and expect to decide of the town has a drug problem.......cmon now think about it..there are drugs everywhere as I said Pompton lakes is no worse than any towns that surround it.
Drug problems? This is America! A person would be ignorant to think that they could escape "drugs" by running to a suburb or even small town. Drugs are everywhere, it's a fact of life. America's suburbs are full of drugs, they just don't get noticed as much as the "problems" in larger cities.
Actually we were talking to some people that lived in Bloomingdale but spent a lot of time in Pompton Lakes. It looks lovely. Thanks Mary, I think the flooding issue is something to consider as well.
well water has nothing to do with it with being flood prone....if you are in a flood zone it could and will cost you alot for insurance and trust me they hardly cover anything ..that on top of the high taxes in Pompton Lakes , where the schools are lacking.. THAT are some things to consider. .....and bloomiongdale? They are broke dont even consider that. Trust me ...I wouldnt do it. I gre up in Pompton Plains.....I know all those areas all to well.
I am not taking about flooding but add to it, Well water has everything to do with it!!!! Ringwood sits higher and water runs down hill. Don't you remember the acid brook, DUPONT, lot of bad chemicals in the ground. Dupont polluted the area, add Ford Plant in Mahwah and there is a river that run that way. I do not know if its well water there but certainly worth having tested if there is one.
