Is it wrong to have loved Elizabeth?
it was 1995. I was a single white female of 21 years of age from the Houston suburbs when the airline business landed me in Elizabeth, NJ. I immediately moved into a place right in the heart of Elizabeth. Granted I was young and naive, but I would often walk around, or to the train with only one other person and NEVER felt scared or threatened. In fact, Elizabeth brings back very fond memories! Is this wrong? I mean since leaving many years ago I have heard many a horror story about the city, yet I can't believe I didn't encounter any of the goings on that I hear about (with the exception of the occassional gunshots & a LOT of prostitutes whom never bothered me once). Was I lucky? People were very friendly and I wouldn't hesitate to walk around the city today.
PS. I still get excited every time I watch the Sopranos and they drive by the Elizabeth exit sign in the opening credits!!

Dang, I KNEW I should have put "single, white, 21 year old, STRAIGHT girl from the Houston burbs". But then I guess that wouldn't be as much fun now, would it.
