Out of curiousity I searched for nude beaches in NJ and it seems that there use to be a few but they were banned, so is there one left somewhere around Sandy Hook? I never been to one. What are they like.. has anyone visited one? Do people really walk around with their stuff hanging out?

Unless it closed in the last few years, the one at Sandy Hook is still there. And yes, people really do walk around with "their stuff hanging out"- unfortunately, most of the people on most nude beaches aren't the folks you want to see walking around nude- they're not the "Land of Pretty People" that movies and TV make them out to be. We found that out first hand while cruising offshore near the Sandy Hook beach with high-powered binoculars on several occasions

I believe the nude beach on Sandy Hook is a Federal Beach so if you are looking under State Of NJ beaches you may not find it listed

I heard the beach itself isn't great because the sand is basicly tiny rocks. I've only been to south jersey beaches, should I go and check it out or will we be disappointed?

Ya had to add that last bit in... "We found out..." Sure Bob...we all know you frequent the nude beaches : ))) There's a nudist camp in Hackettstown - I worked there as a kid... running the snack bar with mom and Bob is correct! People look much better with clothes on!!!

I dont know if she knows this But Steve Morse lives where I used to live many years ago and on the other side of the lake there is a nudist camp.......all the cars seemed to come from NY. As much as my gf and I tried we never could see, was so fenced in.

It would make a good documentary or short film, many will buy it. We can call it "The armpit of America"
