Bathroom tub question
Are homes in NJ required to have at least one bath tub? (This was told to us by a realtor.) And if this is true, does a jacuzzi tub count?

I never heard of such a rule...should they, yes..probably!
Very interesting...not sure what the basis for a house "having" to have a tub.
If it is a rule, why wouldn't a jacuzzi tub count..it is a tub.
Me confused

I can't bathe a baby in a jacuzzi tub. Well, I guess I could ... but I would have to climb in. (Sorry - should have explained myself )

Any home SHOULD have a tub. Think about it, where would you bathe your children? A home without a tub would rule out potential buyers.

I have heard that be to called a "full bath" it should have a bath tub. Otherwise it should be listed as 3/4 bath, but that is not a term you see often. You may get more responses posting on the real estate board, as a lot of experts frequent that forum.

We looked at a place that didn't have a tub. It was actually the least of it's problems!

The house must have bathing facilities, which can be a tub and or a shower. And it's got to be part of the sanitary water system, with running water & proper drainaga. Not just a tub you fill with buckets in the middle of the basement.
I'll look into the tub requirement. I've not hearrd that before, but then, I've also never seen a house without a tub.

Who says every house has children?
I live in NYC. Some units in my apt. building were recently renovated, and some have only shower stalls -- no tub. I would never live without a tub!
This was the decision of the same genius architect who thought some apartments' living rooms were too small, so he cheated some space from the bedroom, and now the bedrooms are too small to accommodate anything larger than a twin bed.

The house I saw without a tub had 4 bedrooms and they had converted the garage into a family room. I think people looking at that house are going to have kids!
And what is with everyone converting their garages? I have to park my car 7 blocks from my apartment and you spoiled people are just giving up your garages?!
