Question Lincoln Park airport restaurant info

A while back there used to be a restaurant (maybe more of a cafe) at the Lincoln Park Airport that my kids LOVED, to watch the planes taking off and landing. One day, poof, it was gone. Apparently the owner did a runner in the middle of the night. Anyway, I happened to be driving past there the other day and there is a serious amount of work being done to the building both inside and outside. Dare I hope another restaurant is going in there? Anyone out there got the scoop? Thanks.

Thanks for the info...do you know what it's opening? I hope it's not so beautiful that I can't take my kids there!

Default It just opened.

I drove by this morning and saw a now open sign on the building. In doing a search for the phone number to make reservations (not sure if you need them) I stumbled upon your post and thought I'd let you know. The renovations are beautiful. They built a huge atrium-type room off the back of all windows so I assume all of the tables are there to watch the planes as you eat. I also noticed a bunch of folded up umbrellas below so it looks like there is even outdoor seating right along the runway.

The restaurants name is the Sunset Pub & Grill. The most anticipated restaurant to open in Lincoln Park turned out to be a huge let down. The food was disgusting and oddly put together with strange flavoring (actually no flavor). I wonder If this place actually even had a chef? The menu didn't even warrant having one; no creativity, barely any choices, and they ran out of food. The service was friendly but nearly not worth the money you had to spend; everything was extremely overpriced. For all of you chefs out there (you should get a kick out of this) rubbery unseasoned calamari over wilted brown rommaine lettuce, black olives and sliced hot cherry peppers. Yummi, I bet the chef broke a sweat thinking this one up. I think Applebees could have done better.
