Questions re South Jersey Areas
We finally got through the preapproval process and are looking at certain areas in Gloucester, Camden and Burlington County. I would love to live in Pitman but it is a bit out of our price range. We are looking at 150, I know low but is doable. Other areas we are looking at Brooklawn, Blackwood, some townhomes in Gloucester Township, Turnersville.
Any other areas anyone can add? We have till June to find something but the sooner the better.
Also someone mentioned Brooklawn is somewhat unaccepting to anyone a darker shade of white My husband is hispanic and honestly we dont want to be anywhere where that might be a problem. Just want to go to work each day and take care of our family without the issues certain areas may cause so please feel free to let me know either in pm or post
Thanks!

How about a 3bed 1 bath rancher in Browns Mills? I have a few better pictures of it here. I saw the Dogwood tree was blooming and took pics for the old owners.
Story on the house - was my neighbor's house, they lost it to sheriffs sale. Apparently someone bought it, put a new roof on, not sure what else they are doing but they listed it. The price is really good from what I've been seeing as I follow the market here since we just sold. I'm surprised no one has scooped the house up yet.
It's in Country Lakes. It's competition is a few in mobile home parks, some in town close to the base where you may have some airplane noise. I see one in Presidential Lakes (state named streets) that I don't think is as large as this one.
Anyway, good luck on your search. Took me 7 months to find a place. We ended up in Williamstown

You can get a decent townhouse in Sicklerville in your price range. Strongly suggest you look into it.

I'm not a fan of the Brooklawn/Westville area. It is very low-class and Brooklawn is basically just an extension of Gloucester City so it is kind of racist as well.

Okay I heard mixed reviews on Browns MIlls about being too "away" from everything. Sicklerville? Surprised that was even suggested. Lets just say that is out.
Thanks for the honesty about the Brooklawn area. I am sure there are other areas that it wont be an issue. Frustrates me that I do have to worry about it but it is what it is.

Depending on what you need, shopping is about 30 minutes no matter which way you go.. out towards Toms River, Manahawkin or Mt Holly / Burlington. Food shopping is less then 10 minutes, either Acme in town or the Whiting Stop & Shop which has pretty good prices.
For what you'd pay in taxes, Browns Mills is very affordable. I wouldn't rule it out.

with gas prices the way they are - all the savings in taxes would be offset since you have to drive so far to everything out in Browns Mills

maybe I could handle the driving 30 minutes but the Pemberton school district is a no go Maybe this just isn't the right idea.

What's wrong with the schools? I have a son that graduated a few years ago, no problems, good grades. My daughter is currently at the high school, she has an IEP and they've been really good about any concerns I have. She was at the vo-tech from September until January, they weren't so great about the IEP. Maybe if she was in 10th grade it would be a different story as you are assigned a case manager to start, then once you pick your major it changes.
I know many kids that have graduated Pemberton high, they've done fine, no problems.
The grade schools are good. They have a lot of extra stuff they teach the young kids with laptops, cameras & also were teaching how to do newsletters, plus a garden club at one.
I come from North Jersey, my son started in Roselle & Edison. The Browns Mills school was better then either of those.
Have you had experience in Browns Mills schools or are you reading something online?
