Would any of you know of any reputable site where I could search for & read reviews for a good realtor?

However, ideally a home for 250-275K is what I have in mind since I will be the only income earner.

As far as commute to work I’d have to take the train since it’s pretty much free for me, that being said, if I move to Hopatcong maybe driving to Dover’s train station would be my best bet since they have straight service into NYC? Please, again any info. or thoughts even if not certain would be greatly appreciated.
Parking in Hopatcong train station is free and ample parking available in the morning and some trains actually originate from there. You can change to NYC train in Dover/Denville/Newark Board Street by getting down and getting into the NYC train. Otherwise the direct train goes to Hoboken, which lot of people go to changeover to PATH to reach either WTC/Midtown PATH route. Dover station parking is $5 adjacent to the station and $3 little far off, but I have never parked there, so not absolutely sure, but I did go to that station to pick up people arriving from NYC and there seems to be ample parking there as well, although in the morning, reaching the station would be some ordeal, because of all signals and the station is located in the busy part of the town.

Hi guys,

Quick update, I drove around on both sides of Hopatcong & it was a bit discouraging. I think the place is nice, I don’t mind the smaller homes but the privacy is not there. The homes are very close together, if you have nosy neighbors they’ll be all in your business. I wouldn’t rule out Hopatcong altogether but it definitely loses point for that. I drove to Oak Ridge / Jefferson Township & they seemed to have more private & also some affordable homes. Did anyone have a similar experience? Also, a huge plus on places mentionEd above is that they seemed welcoming. I’m tanned skinned Dominican & everyone I saw was white, it blessed me to see them wave at me & be kind. They don’t seem caught up in the current wave of racial climate promulgated by the media & the left. Huge thumbs up!

Sounds like you'd fit right in then.

Not at all. I've just been continuing to use euphemisms to describe the people in Hopatcong as conservative, but that seems to be a plus for you, so I think you'll fit in.

I'm going to send you a message with the realtor we used to buy a home in Byram. She was phenomenal.

As I learned a few years ago when I moved to the area, Landing is a section of Roxbury. It’s nice enough, but not as fancy as Ledgewood or Succasunna. It’s a notch above Hopatcong and probably similar to Lake Hopatcong (which I had no idea was a section of Jefferson until I moved) in terms of demographics. Roxbury as a whole is a bit nicer than Lake Hopatcong/Jefferson and definitely nicer than Hopatcong.
