Towns of saddle brook or lyndhurst
Any thoughts on the towns of Saddle Brook or Lyndhurst in Bergen County? Community, school districts, commute to nyc. Any input is appreciated.

We lived in Saddle Brook before we moved - I LOVE Saddle Brook, and if I ever move back it would be there.
The school was great, there are 3 elementary schools. My neighborhood was nice with wonderful neighbors. Plus you have easy access to all the hightways.
Our taxes also were not bad for the town, I think we paid about $5200 per year.

Don't really know Saddle Brook, but can comment on Lyndhurst...
very nice town, clean, seems like the town is always upgrading the parks etc.
Worth a closer look

Saddle Brook is a gold mine waiting to happen!! 30 years ago it was a dump, now look at it. Its changed alot. But it will get better, its going to skyrocket!!! Why do you ask? Very simple Route 208, 17 and 46 in its back yard! Now add The garden state parkway and route 80 in Saddle Brook you have the ultimate commuters dream!!!!

May I suggest an alternative town? Nutley, which is right next to Lyndhurst in Essex County. Much nicer town than Saddle Brook or Lyndhurst, better schools and cheaper because it is in Essex County. Commute to NYC is better than Saddle Brook and only slightly longer than Lyndhurst.
It's a quiet Italian town with great people and great food. Most people who grow up in Nutley, stay in Nutley. I like Lyndhurst too, but Nutley is so much more, for a little less than Lyndhurst.

she certainly didn't stay in nutley. lyndhurst and nutley are essentially the same but lyndhurst has better bordering towns.

Saddle Brook is a nice place to live and as a few other posters stated it is close to major highways and has good schools as well as grocery stores.
