Greetings all,

This is primarily directed towards Newark residents. I'm coming to this forum because I wanted to get an idea of whether or not anyone else has heard about more, if any at all, details about this Newark-based universal basic income pilot program? Now, I have heard rumblings about it since the idea was first brought to the attention of the public and I last heard that a Free pilot program had just been either completed or they had just begun to pick the pre-pilot program participants.I also heard that beginning in July and application process would begin and people could apply to become pilot program participants. However I looked or news 12A few weeks ago and saw the 1st batch of participants for this universal basic income program. What is going on? I know that in the past there had been a lot of drama concerning the fact that a lot of programs that are initiated from either wealthy foundations or from federal government Attempts at anti poverty programs in Nork are often only to the benefit of particular people who are Beneficiaries of local elected officials. I've heard of the days when mayor Sharpe James would exercise his political power in the interest of family members, donors and the like. Am I to assume that because I do not have connections to anyone on the city council on the school board or in the mayor's office that I cannot expect to receive a fair shot when it comes to applying for pilot programs such as Newark's well-funded UBI study?

I apologize for the errors in punctuation!
