Hello,
My husband and I are retired and thinking about moving to Manalapan, NJ from Morris County. I'd like to have some input regarding if the town has changed (good/bad) in the past 10 years. Also, what about the race track and noise levels?
Thanks so much!

Thought Raceway Park was in Englishtown NJ. (Which is across the street. One of the most "revenue towns" in NJ, Englishtown. It's a Boro.. WATCH OUT!!! Watch out..) I have personally a horrible experience with Englishtown but not relative to this thread, aside from.. All 5 Englishtown cops are going to put you through the ringer when you get "Randomly stopped." Revenue. Court is in on it. Moving on...
My sister lives in Manalapan. Likes it. Weird borders and school districting but.. Overall, positive.
Also look at Marlboro...

No more real bad noise from Raceway Park as the residents' years long vigil to shut down drag racing finally won.
Manalapan and Marlboro have high Jewish populations if you are looking for a synygog and the such.
Most places in Monmouth County are a win if you want to stay in NJ and can afford it.
Monroe Towship was always a best kept secret nestled right in a corner bordering Manalapan. Low taxes. Semi rural. But that is getting walloped now too with lots of development happening the last dozen years.⁷

hellodollygirl,
manalapan is a great town. conveniently located, more reasonable taxes, and lots of good restaurants and shopping. raceway park is located in the northwest area of the township in englishtown. The raceway still has events. You can check out their website for a calendar. if you are worried about noise, find a home away from that section of town. the raceway was here long before many of these developments, and you just need to do your due diligence. i put in new windows when i moved in, and i don't hear a thing.

Oh they sure will.
They still have units $70k-$130k or so in the one I'm in... it's big business, these places.
And they shut down Raceway Park? Oh no. How will Englishtown Revenue Enforce now?
