I have noticed on Stuyvesant Avenue some shop keepers have Stop Eminent Domain signs in their windows. While others business are gone and there are lots of For Rent signs in the windows.
Anyone know what is happening? Is there revitalization going on? |

supposedly.
I overhear various business owners complaining about it from time to time. I guess the town is planning a huge redevelopment project. see the township website for the plans. In there, somewhere, i guess it says something to the effect that the town reserves the right to use eminent domain if they need to. I don't think they have plans to bulldoze any stores or anything. It's probably going to be enforced to make the property owners improve their building facades so that they all match and make the downtown look nice. I think the business owners are griping because they don't want to pay for it. I wish they'd use it to reduce the frequency of hair/nail salons from every other store to maybe every third store??? |

They are planning to redo the whole union center and attract better and higher quality stores. You can look at the plans and have more information on unions official website. Its a very large PDF file about 90megs but it will explain everything and has all the drawings and plans what it will look like
