Glendora (south Jersey) 4 bed 2 bath cape , not very big....5800. Yes people are fleeing NJ. Lots of 4 sales signs in my area. My house is one of them. Sad I have lived here all my life. I love NJ..just way to expensive.

I'm paying close to 11k as it is and w/ the new reassesment that was done if I take the same rate table I'll be paying close to 20k and I'm not very pleased, happy w/ this news. And then people wonder why NJ are fleeing, don't get me wrong I love Jersey as much as the next person, but is #'s like that and the rest of the politics as usual that discourage me.
It's pretty bad. It's not even like it's a new house or anything. It's a big - 4k sq ft but the kitchen and bathrooms were last updated in the 70's. In fact it doesn't even have a master bathroom. Plenty of people I know around here pay in the 30k range for taxes. It's the large (for around here) lot that makes it so expensive.

Default I don't know much about this but.............

HMMM Lets see. Paterson (definitely suburbia) single family home 4 bedrooms, 1.5 bath. They assessed it at about $335k (compared to what and who the hell is going to pay that!!!) and taxes are about $7k. Went before the Tax committee which was a joke and when they were told "people are leaving NJ in droves because of this bs" their response was "where are they going to go??"

No children in the school system THANK GOD,and the city won't so much as pick up any heavy garbage..which makes me wonder..WHERE IS THE MONEY GOING?????

I pay $25,000/year for 5 BR 4.5 baths on 0.35 acres in Livingston. It is new construction though, so there is a chance it will go down with the reeval next year.

My parents own a home in Paterson too. Its a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom home. Taxes are $8,500! Although its a good part of town, that is waaay to expensive for the services you get in Paterson. I just saw what some of you pay and its even more upsetting, being that you pay the same (or even less) and live in suburbia.

My dad says he will never buy another home in NJ again and if they move, it will be to another state. I just hope its not soon because I'm not ready to follow them anywhere right now .
