hey! I saw a rainbow in my backyard yesterday - around 7:30pm'ish?!? It was beautiful!

We had a couple of geese with babies the other day : ) Oh and 3 mallards... but I think one found himself a nice looking female as we are down to two. I'm getting new birds this year...ones I have never seen before in my life! Sand piper looking things around the pond and these orange/brown looking birds..similiar to mocking birds but with longer beaks. Only one kill deer : ( I think it's the one that lost it's mate to a hawk last year... he/she is very territorial! Chases all the other kill deers away... the red winged black birds have arrived as well! Soon we will get the homing pigeons... they land here for a few days of rest before heading out again. It really is a beautiful State...when you head West!!!

Shhh - New Jersey is a repulsive state, stay away. How could you even make such a false statement!?!?!? YUCK!!

Awww!!!!

but that's sad about the kill deer! I remember reading your stories about them and always thinking they were really cute, as well as neat/interesting. I even looked the bird up, after reading one of your stories, since I'd never seen one before.

and good for the mallard!

I don't think I've ever seen baby geese, which is weird, since I lived in Michigan for half of my life, and have spent the past year off and on between NY/NJ.

The doublers are really cool.... the second one is typically much lighter...harder to see but when you do get one, it's an unbelievable site! I was almost tempted to get in the car and find the end to see if there really is a pot of gold but some little man in a green suit flipped me the bird then cut me off on Rt. 80... gotta luv jersy drivers ..lol: )

If they only knew EB ; ) The killdeer has taken a fancy to the sand piper looking birds... I think she/he may be a bit confused : ) It's funny as she/he acts out the nesting bit... pretends he/she has a nest while I am mowing the lawn...doing the broken wing deal and all. Must be a female..maternal instinct : )

The list is terrible. There is no way that Montana or Wyoming could possible be ahead of NJ. Jersey is one of the most diverse states if not the MOST diverse in the nation so i would think that all the people we have from so many countries would of heard of New Jersey alot more than the 50th place.

seriously

How could we have the 49th worst climate? its exactly the same as at least 15 other states in the eastern/mid-atlantic/new england region.

whoever wrote this sounds like he agrees with the terrible ranking- there are several cuts on the state in parentheses.

whatever. I get the same thing from all my friends from out of state when I tell them I moved here. I hate bias when people don't know what they are talking about. oh well, like many of you already said, we can enjoy the great parts for ourselves!
