Default Are apartment brokers scammers? So many in NJ

I've always thought these apartment brokers are ful of it, but it seems like so many apartment ads are for brokers. I have a dog, so it's hard to find a place anyway - has anyone ever used a broker? I've always had to live in junky creepy NJ apartments because of the dog - I do not want to do that anymore! There must be an affordable, nice apartment that allows pets - somewhere. No more creepy boxer shorts wearing landlord in my living room, or steroid-ridden raging landlord, or crazy lady upstairs blasting the bass. NO.

Ideally in Boonton, but somewhere within a reasonable commute to Montville!
