Default Atlantic City - Bachelor Party

OK well, for my entire life I've wanted to be a best man for somebody...anybody! But I don't have a brother, and many of my buddies growing up had brothers, or cousins, or somebody that won the best man honors. Well finally, I've been named the best man for an old friend's wedding! Now, I have to plan the bachelor party!

The groom wants Atlantic City for the event. We'll be going down all day Saturday, staying over saturday night, and leaving on Sunday.

Any recommendations on the following?

- Hotel to stay at
- Things to do during the day on Saturday
- Outdoor beach bar kind of thing?
- Things to do at night

I've been down there a bunch of times, but I'm no AC guru...so any insight is appreciated!

Where to stay will depend on your price range. For my brother's bachelor party we stayed at the Borgata, which was cool. It's got a good casino (if you're into that). We didn't do any beach stuff but I think that's one downside of the Borgata - it's not really walking distance to the beach, but transportation is pretty easy to come by.

Money is not an issue. The groom had mentioned Harrah's...but I think that's near Borgata, and therefore kind of off the beaten path. I guess I'd like to have the option of being near the boardwalk...

You can easily take the Jittney from Harrah's/Borgata to the boardwalk....

It is like a shuttle and it hits all the casino's. It just keeps going in a circle to each casino and drops you off...and then you can pick it back up when ready to head to the next one....pretty cheap too.....might even be free...not sure.

just came back from AC this weekend. personally I would stay closer to the boardwalk or grouping of casinos and only worry about the shuttle if you want to go out to the borgata (which has some perty beer wenches I might add). as for 'things to do during the day' and 'things to do at nite', gamble, drink for free, lose money, hit the boardwalk. I wouldn't over think it, the fun will come to you. I guess you could try to organize a round of golf during the day.

Whenever we go, we really like to stay at the Trump Taj Mahal. Great rooms, great casino, fun club - Kazbah (*spelling?) (if you're into that). Also, it's not in the CENTER of everything, but still on the boardwalk & within walking distance.
As far as what to do...I guess that depends on what you're into. There are shows to see (check ticketmaster.com), clubs (dance & strip...), good restaurants, lounges, and, obviously, casinos.
While the Borgata is prob. the most luxurious of the hotels, i'd probably not stay there b/c it's too far out of the way, honestly. (I did stay once when i went to see a concert, and we took cabs to other casinos as needed).
Have fun!
