Moving to N. NJ, What the best town for us???
Hi, We are moving NJ! We need more info on family friendly towns in north east NJ. Two kids under 3, We don't need to be close to Manhattan (trains, bus etc) but would like to spend 500k or so on a house with atleast 3 bedrooms 2 baths. Pre-school important, we would consider living in NY state near northern NJ towns. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Callie

Where do you need to commute to - that's a good start - people can advise from there.

Where are you working? That has a lot to do with your commute!
I would start looking in Warren and Hunterdon Counties. A lot more house for your money.

All nice areas, you may also want to consider Blairstown, Allamuchy, Independence Twp. Liberty and Mansfield in Warren County. You would be able to find something really nice in your price range in these areas.
Long Valley is very nice but in Morris County which is much more pricey than Warren.

Eastern morris county is closest if he has to travel during rush hour would be best. If he travels more during the middle of day going west will get you more bang for the buck. I would stay away from Dover, Victory Gardens, Wharton, Mine Hill, Kenvil
